On the 23^rd of February, 2016, Sports Bureau of Wenjiang District, Chengdu City announced that the third Chengdu Dubai International Cup (CDIC) will be run on the 2^nd of April at Chengdu Golden Horse International Equestrian Sports Park.

It is estimated there would be more than 60 racehorses travelling from Dubai to Chengdu to run in five high-priced races.

The CDIC is hosted by the People's Government of Chengdu City and Emirates Racing Authority, co-sponsored by Meydan Group, Sports Bureau of Chengdu City, the People's Government of Wenjiang District and China Guangsha.

These five races will be run under the rules of Emirates Racing Authority:

1 Chengdu • Wenjiang Flat Race (1400 metres)

2 Guangsha Distance Race (1600 metres)

3 Meydan Handicap (2418 metres)

4 Wenjiang • Meydan Classic (1600 metres)

5 Chengdu • Dubai International Cup (2218 metres)

During that period of time, apart from the meeting with jockeys, China-Arabia Forum will be held. It is estimated that more than 6,000 people will go to the races and activities.

The horses will quarantine in Dubai on the 10^th of March, depart from Dubai to Chengdu on the 25^th of March and leave China on the 4^th of April.

This is the third time that Chengdu City hosts Chengdu Dubai International Cup with Emirates Racing Authority.

From May, 2012, Sports Bureau of Chengdu City, the People's Government of Wenjiang District, China Guangsha and Meydan Group worked together to introduce CDIC into China and the first CDIC was run on the 6^th of April, 2014. Last year witnessed the second CDIC with jockeys from seven countries, 50-odd horses and 3.75 million RMB of Total Prize Fund (five races).
