CHIA's first two races this year

BRIEF

On the 7th and 8th of May, in Xinjiang Province, China Grand National Horseracing Yumin Shanhua Cup was organised by China Horse Industry Association (CHIA) and Tacheng Administrative Office, undertook by Xinjiang Horse Industry Association and People's Government of Yumin County.

There are 10 races in these two racedays (six for Day 1, four for Day 2).

Only two races (first and third race on Day 1) are open to registered thoroughbreds, while other races are open to local breeds (1200 metres and 4800 metres), pacing horses (1200 metres and 4800 metres), Kazakh horses (24 km) and two Owners' Challenge Cup (prize money put together by owners).

 

These races were run on Yumin International Racecourse and it has a 1200-metre sand track (see below).

RACES

The first race is CHIA · Yumin Shanhua Cup (1200 metres) for 3yo & up and it was won by Yixiang Naicha, ridden by Ma Re Yi, owned by TANG Wei.

 

This is a CHIA Group 2 race and the very first flat race organised by CHIA this year.

 

The purse is RMB 100,000. The winner is to receive RMB 50,000, the second to receive RMB 20,000, the third RMB 15,000, the fourth RMB 10,000, and the fifth RMB 5,000.

The third race is Yumin Shanhua Festival · Yinhe Jianan Cup (3600 metres) for 3yo & up and it was won by Batu Liebao, ridden by Na Sheng Ji Le Ge, owned by WU Bin.

The purse is RMB 80,000. The winner is to receive RMB 50,000, the second to receive RMB 20,000, and the third RMB 10,000.
